Loving the Lovat
Please tell others - Review The Lovat Arms Hotel
Great Stay on a Wet Day
We would like to sincerely thank you for the impeccable service we received on our visit to your hotel. It is a real pleasure to stay in an establishment where so much attention to detail is paid. We were made welcome from the very moment of our arrival. Quick check in. Beautiful room. Staff were professional, knowledgeable, and above all and perhaps most importantly friendly and attentive. And the food was exceptional. We can't fault a single thing except that we wish we could have stayed longer!!! We will certainly be recommending yourselves to friends and family and hope that we can come to stay again soon. We would like to thank you and all the staff at the Lovat Arms for a great stay (on a wet autumn weekend). Warm wishes Colleen and Stuart (November)

Hogmanay 2007 Feedback
" A short note to thank you for all the tremendous effort which you all put into New Year, particularly the Gregory clan! How can you be bothered I do not know, there is a lot to be said for closing & going for a weeks ski-ing! The culinary highlight was definitely the yellow fin tuna with salsa & sorbet but everything was done to an excellent professional standard & we really did appreciate all that you & the staff did to make it a great New Year. Good luck with 2008" Watson Bell Just a note to Thank You & your staff for looking after us so well over our New Year stay. We very much appreciated the upgrade, which was extremely comfortable! The food & service was excellent, together with the extra touches - the boat trip & various entertainers. I must mention the fireworks which were fantastic! Please pass on our thanks to all the staff for their hard work. Wishing you & the Lovat Arms a very successful 2008!" Lesley & Guy Newton Thank you for the note and everyone in our party certainly enjoyed themselves at the Lovat at new year. I am sure it will not be the last visit that we make to the hotel. Thank you again and best wishes for 2008. Regards, Bruce Lawson We had a great New Year at Lovat Arms, and have extolled its virtues to all our friends. Shorter or longer? Certainly not shorter. Coming from south of the border, we needed a decent break just to gather strength for the return journey. I think we would have considered staying one more day - in principle - but we had commitments which meant we had to leave on the 2nd, and I suspect that might well be the case in the future. So 3 days was just right for us. We thought you had planned it very well. Your previous experience showed. The food was not too overwhelming - quantity-wise. (The quality/presentation was excellent - congratulations to your chef.) And the fireworks were terrific. You assumed correctly that people would be comfortable enough with each other to play games etc. on January 1st, but probably not before that. Getting to know other people at dinner on New Year's Eve was a great idea. I guess one of the disadvantages of having a big party booking together means that they don't have to bother to socialise with others at all. Even we, as a foursome, had less motivation to socialise. I recognise that you are not in control of the size of parties, but you're obviously well aware of the dynamics of the mix of guests. The trip on the Loch was great fun, and led to endless speculation of course, given the captain's entertaining commentary! But not something you'd do a second time. Likewise Urquhart Castle - have I spelt that right? It was great that it was open on the 1st, but you probably wouldn't make a second visit. I'm just making the point that if the weather is fine, then you can go off in the car and walk/explore. If the weather is as it was, then you would be looking for entertainment 'nearer home'. Hope that above is of some use to you. We truly appreciated how much hard work everyone put into making our stay memorable, and it certainly was. We are definitely considering a return visit. With all best wishes, Jane Herring We had a lovely time! Tom has health problems & was concerned re being able to manage. He was reassured when booking & on arrival was gratified to find that the facilities were indeed great for him. Only improvement would be layout for Hogmany. The Bistro part could have been better utilised to make way for setees to enable more dancing. Your guests did you proud by getting people up dancing especially the English who were game for a laugh but needed direction. The staff are lovely the food superb & the family atmosphere great & not too stuffy.Tom finds wearing a tie difficult, formal clothes can be too heavy to wear, but he felt he could be casual too & managed. He needed to rest New Years day & did not really leave the room & the girl who came in to make up beds etc was really good & chatted away & he felt comfortable rather than awkward. He has just spent the last two weeks in hospital & life is a struggle for him, but he loves to see the action! He certainly felt most comfortable with you all & we thank you for that. We wish you continued success Tom & Evelyn
